A familiar picket profile, made for the home.

A front fence is part of the first impression of a home. For this Forest Lake project, Southside Fencing & Construction built custom hardwood timber fencing from scratch and completed it with a professionally painted finish. The pale picket-style frontage sits alongside the brickwork and timber porch details, giving the entrance a consistent, welcoming appearance.

The completed photographs show the fence from the street and from inside the garden. Vertical palings, shaped tops and capped posts establish a repeating pattern along the front lawn. The pedestrian opening sits within the same visual line, bringing the frontage together.

Hardwood construction with a painted finish.

This project combines the character of hardwood timber with the clean appearance of painted fencing. Building the fence from scratch allowed the layout to respond to the property, while the painted finish unifies the posts, palings and rails.

The inside photographs are useful as well as the street views: they show the rails and the way the timber sections meet the posts. Together, the images give homeowners considering a painted timber fence a clearer picture of both the outward appearance and the construction behind it.
