A welcoming entrance, built around the home.
A front fence does more than define the boundary. It sets the tone for the home behind it, frames the approach to the front door and shapes the way a property is used every day. For this Tarragindi project, Southside Fencing & Construction custom built a premium hardwood timber fence and matching gates to bring the entire frontage together.
The natural character of the timber sits comfortably alongside the weatherboard home. Rounded paling tops and the rhythm of the vertical boards give the fence a traditional feel, while the matching gates create a consistent finish across the pedestrian entrance and driveway.
Custom built from the ground up.
This was a complete custom build, including the gate frames. Rather than treating the gates as separate additions, the fence and access points were considered as one connected frontage. The timber detailing carries through each section, giving the finished work a cohesive appearance from the street.
The driveway gates open to provide vehicle access, while the separate pedestrian gate serves the path to the home. Inside views show the frame construction and diagonal bracing behind the timber, details that are often hidden in a front-on photograph but form an essential part of the build.

The details make the frontage.
The contrast between the warm timber and the clean white mailbox gives the entrance a clear focal point. The mailbox was supplied by the customer, who ordered it from Amazon. The fence, gates and gate frames were custom built for the project.
Viewed from inside, the open and closed gate positions show how the frontage works in use. Vehicle and pedestrian access each have their own opening, while the repeating timber profile links the different parts of the boundary visually.
